Sheffield’s Kenwood Hall Launches Initiative To Put Funds Into Fundraising Events

A Sheffield City centre hotel is helping put the fund into fund raising as it launches an initiative to give charities suffering from the credit crunch a helping hand.

Kenwood Hall has launched its Kenwood Cares 2009 scheme, which offers charity fund-raisers vastly reduced room hire rates - together with a raft of other money-saving initiatives - for weekend dinners, balls and special events.

Kenwood Hall general manager Andrew Wright said: “In the current economic climate, everyone, including charities, are suffering. What we are proposing is, via our Kenwood Cares 2009, to work with local and national organisations to offer them our facilities at a greatly reduced fee.

“There are times when we don’t have any events taking place in the hotel, so instead of having function rooms and bedrooms unoccupied, we would much rather they were used - particularly at the weekends.

“We have fabulous facilities here, including 12 acres of grounds, fishing lake, leisure centre and ample parking.”

Andrew added: Thanks to Kenwood Cares 2009, we are already helping Freeman College with a major fundraising event on Friday, June 5.

“We will work with charities on an individual basis to ensure their event – which after all is being held to raise as much money as possible – costs them as little as possible to stage. We are literally putting the funds back into fund raising.”
